| BANGALORE INTERNATIONAL CENTRE
formally came into existence on 21st November, 2005 when
it was inaugurated by the Hon. President of India, Dr
A P J Abdul Kalam. It has completed a successful year
on 21st November, 2006. To mark this, Bangalore International
Centre observed its First Anniversary in the week 21st
to 25th November, 2006. On this occasion, it had organized
the following functions: 21st November, 2006:
A Programme viz., “Laya and Taala”
a performance of Indian Percussion Instruments by Shri
Anoor R Ananthakrishna Sharma (Shivu) and his troupe
of musicians was arranged at 7 PM in the evening.
A “Ghazal Nostalgia” – an evening
of old nostalgic Ghazals by Shri Akbar Yusufi, a reputed
Ghazal singer was there at 8 PM.
25th November, 2006:
The Members Lounge and the Library of Bangalore International
Centre was inaugurated by Dr A Ramachandran, President
of the Centre at 5 PM.
A Talk by Shri Subroto Bagchi, Co-Founder of Mindtree
Consulting viz., “High Performance Entrepreneur”
was arranged at 6 PM
There was a performance viz., “Where the mind
is free” by Smt. Arundati Raja and Shri Jagadish
Raja, the Theatre Duo at 7 PM.
“Raaga Sandhya” Indian Classical Vocal Music,
was presented by Pandit Madhav Gudi, noted exponent
of classical music at 7.30 PM
Dinner was arranged to all the participants at 9 PM.
All the above functions were well-attended by the invitees
and the members of BIC and appreciated by one and all.
