On Bangalore International Centre had arranged an Audio-Visual Talk on “Risking it all: How should you respond to allegations of fraud, bribery and corruption?” by Ms. VidyaRajarao, Leader, Forensic Services, Pricewaterhouse Coopers Private Limited. The talk was scheduled on Tuesday, 10th July, 2012 at 6:30 pm.
The talk which focused on fraud and bribery in the corporate sector was preceded by a film “Risking it all” which dealt with a typical scenario of how a company reacted to an allegation by a whistle-blower about bribery and fraud in securing business. She highlighted the fact that it was of paramount importance to any company to ensure that its credibility and that of its own Board of Management does not get compromised in any manner while dealing with any allegation, however trivial or improbable it may appear to be. It is therefore necessary to pay careful attention and consideration to whistle-blower communication, internal audit reports, external audit reports and even trade gossips. The Board of Management should be vigilant and get to the bottom of the particular issue to ascertain what went wrong, how it was done, why it went wrong, who did it and what is the remedial action. Both the film and the interactive session which followed were lively and members of the audience, many of whom were retired and serving corporate honchos, were extremely appreciative.
