Lecture demonstration on "Appreciation of Kathak Dance" by Hari and Chethna on 24th April, 2009 at 6.30 pm.

Bangalore International Centre had arranged a Lecture Demonstration on “Appreciation of Kathak Dance” by Hari and Chethna, Kathak Dance couple from Bangalore on 24th April, 2009 at 6.30 pm.

Even though there were heavy rains, a sizeable audience had turned up at the auditorium and they were no disappointed. Smt. Usha Venkateswaran and Shri Ashish Khokar began the event by explaining in detail the evolution of Kathak as a dance form, its subtleties and its unique adaptability. Thereafter, Hari and Chethna took over and presented the nuances of Kathak through their dance. The suppleness and grace, the unique expressiveness, the emotional intensity of their dance were indeed breathtaking. The thoroughly enjoyable performance was followed by an interesting interactive session in which a lot of interesting facts came to light through Shri Ashish Khokar and Smt. Usha Venkateswaran. It was an evening to remember.
