Is it necessary for an artist, established in his own chosen medium, to remain confined to that medium for expressing his creative urges? This was the question posed by Mr. Amitabh Sengupta, an eminent artist from Kolkata, known for his paintings in India and abroad, before a select gathering at Bangalore International Centre on 6th November, 2007 at 6 PM. He provided his own answer by reciting a few poems penned by him and by screening a few images he has filmed to give expression to his creative urges in mediums other than painting. The thoroughly enjoyable interactive session was presided over by Mr. G Jayakumar, Head of the Dept. of Visual Arts, Bangalore University and attended by several artists, like Mr. S G Vasudev and art-lovers.
